New Database cannot be found

Hi

BCM is not working anymore!

1. What i did was that removed everything with sql server in it from
add/remove programs.
2. Then i made a new MS SQL Server installation.
3. I found the old BCM database file and attached it to my new sql
server installation.
4. Then i tried to add that database in outlook via data file
management, but no matter what i do it seems to tell me that it cannot
find any databases on my computer.

Both the BCM and the database is on the same computer.

What can i do?

Best regards
Jimmy

Re-run BCM setup. It will create a sql instance with the name and port
number BCM connects to. Or you can create the instance using sql.

In BCM v2 the default SQLInstanceName is MICROSOFTSMLBIZ and SQLPort
56183.
In BCM v3 the default SQLInstanceName is MSSMLBIZ and SQLPort 5356.

You can confirm the value in the Registry, in "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
\Business Solutions eCRM"
there are two keys: SQLInstanceName and SQLPort

If BCM runs--e.g., you can create new databases in BCM-- then you
probably already have a BCM sql instance. When you attach the old
database file to the BCM instance, the database should show up in BCM.
If not, then the database may be in another locale or an unsupported
version.
