New custom animation pane (including motion path) not present - Wh

I am running Office 2003 and cannot figure out why when I bring up custom
animation, I don't have the new custom animation pane which includes motion
path, and the other funky animation icons. I seem to have the older, less
functional animation pane? Any ideas why?

Yes: Tools - Options - Edit - Uncheck the bottom three boxes. They
de-activate the new features.
