New Computer Trouble

J

Jeff Dody

I just changed computers. I went from XP Home to Xp
Professional OS. I used PC Relocator to transfer my old
programs and info. The last thing I'm having trouble
with is Outlook Express email. I'm not getting any new e-
mails. It keeps asking me to provide a password but it
won't accept the password I give. I don't think there
was ever a password set on the old computer. Then I get
this error message - There was a problem logging onto
your mail server. Your Password was rejected.
Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR directory status:
BAD PASSWORD', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

Any Ideas?

Yes, there was a password; it's needed for you to authenticate to the
mailserver. Contact your ISP to reset the password.

Also note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.
Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

Good Luck!
