New Child domain

Just want to make sure I do it right:
I need to add a child domain (W2K) to the parent. This will be in a remote
site connected via VPN over DSL (dynamic IP) to the corporate office where
the main servers are located.

I plan on adding DNS to this server which will be AD integrated because the
parent is.

After the child is added, a handfull of user accounts need to be moved to
the new domain.

Any pointers to make sure I get started on the right track?

Thanks,
Adam

Adam,

Are you sure that you need to create a child domain? There is something
that is new to WIN2000 called Sites which *could* be of use to you. You can
have one domain ( yourdomain.com, for example ) with physical offices all
over the state or country or world without necessarily needing to create a
child domain for each physical location.

Adam,

Not a problem. A lot of people who are well versed in WINNT 4.0 and not
familiar with WIN2000 do not know about Sites and - out of habit - want to
create a child domain.
