New button not working properly, so my question is going here

If anyone can re-post this for me, it would be much appreciated since it is
not allowing me to post my question as a new topic.

I'm having an error message when I try to send an e-mail. The mail gets
sent, however does not leave my outbox and I get an error message that states
"Some errors ocurred while processing the requested tasks. Please review the
list of errors below for more details." There is also nothing for me to even
review below. It's blank in the errors tab.

I've also found that if I don't delete that e-mail I sent earlier from my
outbox, it will continue to send it.

If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds remarkably like an AntiVirus scanner set to scan email that has a
problem. Are you running one?

Is your question related to the original post or to the second one, which is
totally unrelated and belongs to somebody who had troubles posting and
decided to do this strange parasite method?

If it is the former, the answer is yes, I run ESET Smart Security which
includes an antivirus checking of the emails. How would that influence the
erratic behavior of the Rules?

Hal,

If you were attempting to answer my question, no I am not running a
antivirus scanning program for my e-mail.

My reply was to the second post. I don't know that AV scanning would have
any effect on rules, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did. Email scanning
is totally NOT needed, it is redundant, it does nothing but create problems
where none exist, and a PC is still fully protected from email malware
without it, provided the resident file system scanner is kept current. ALL
email attachments must be encoded (MIME, UUEncode BinHex, etc.) before they
can pass through an email server. They must be decoded before they can do
anything. The decode process writes the decoded output to a temporary disk
file. The instant that file is written, the resident file system scanner
grabs it and KILLS it right then and there, if its malware, hence email
scanning is redundant and a waste of time. It also creates problems like
email stuck in the Outbox, multiple copies to recipients, and so forth.

A run-away Antivirus email scanner is the usual culprit. Other causes are
personal firewalls and misset routers:
