Here's the problem:
The case has six individual wires labeled-
1. VP (Case) Vcc (MB)
2. VG (Case) Any Ground (MB)
3. TPA- (Case) TPA- (MB)
4. TPA+ (Case) TPA+ (MB)
5. TPB- (Case) TPB- (MB)
6. TPB+ (Case) TPB+ (MB)
7. Shield (doesn't exist)

Shield is probably a typo - either the shield isn't connected at all or
it's been soldered or mechanically connected to the ground on the chasis.

Watch out for the ESL documentation writers. Not only does the documentation
not match the design, but often it's flat out wrong. Antec completely
mislabeled two pins on my case. A deja search may be worthwhile for your
exact mb model number just to check on potential documentation problems.

Also, firewire comes in two flavors, powered and unpowered (4pin and 6pin).
Make sure you test both (if you have the devices to do so) before you button
up the case. It may save you some time later.

Hey All,

Just built a new Athlon XP system based on the DFI NFll Ultra Infinity
motherboard. Build went smooth, no problems. However, I want to hook-up the
cases front Firewire to one of the motherboards firewire connectors.

Here's the problem:

The case has six individual wires labeled-

1. VP
2. VG
3. TPA-
4. TPA+
5. TPB-
6. TPB+

**The documentation that came with the case shows a 7th wire labeled
"shield". However, there is no such wire in the case, only the six indicated
above.

The motherboard pin assignments, as indicated in the MB manual, are:

Upper row (four pins)-
VCC, TPB+, GROUND, TPA+

Lower row (five pins)-
SHIELD, VCC, TPB-, GROUND, TPA-

Obviously, the TPB's and the TPA's aren't a problem. However, there are only
six case wires for nine pinouts on the motherboard. Also, the labeling is
different: the case wiring has VP and VG, and the motherboard has VCC. Doing
a little research, I found that VP is power and VG is ground. The best I can
figure is that the pinouts for the case connections should be-
Upper row: TPB+, VG, TPA+

lower row: VP, TPB-, TPA-

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

D.
