Probably you just don't have. The 613 and 614 install with older 5725
signatures, so after installation you need to update them to 5729 (current
version).

It happens that Mikolaj formulated :

Well, something is corrupted with 1.614.

1. Upgraded directly to 1.614 from 1.509. 5727 latest defs

2. Uninstalled and also removed a lot of files left behind within MSAS
folder.

3. Clean install, 5727 latest.

4. Installed again and choosed upgrade MSAS, with no problem and then
check for updates, 5727 to 5729 with no problem........ ;)

I had a clean install of 614 (after tests with all possible taskbar
placements because of floating toasts ;-) ) with 5725 signatures - right
now I have performed update and without any problems I have 5729.
It doesn't sound good, that this application (MSAS) works in such chaotic
way.. :-(

Nope, something is "off road", but upgrade solved it.
But this is for sure chaotic behaviors............

Going to try this on more PCs and see if this fault can
be repeated (and workaround).....

:-( Did a clean install of 614 from 613. Started out with 5725 and it
updated to 5729 okay but... Do a check for updates again and it repeats the
process by saying it is updating from 5725 (although Help|About says that
5729 is installed). Sigh. I have to remember that it *is* a beta.

Have you tried scanning with that build yet? Let us know if you can
successfully complete a quick scan or if it freezes.

I have no scan problems with MSAS 614 on XP Home SP2 by updating from
613 with "Run", not "Save and Run" of the installer, followed by a
restart and then a manual signature update from 5727 to 5729. The MSAS
scan of the PC then took 7 minutes 56 seconds and looked at 69 memory
processes, 29356 files (out of 400,000 on the PC), and 9095 Registry
keys. Nothing was found.

I did a full scan of both c: (120GB) and d: (120GB) without problems on a
Dell 8300, 2.8HGz, 1GB on XP Home SP2. I also have Spy Sweeper 4, Norton
Personal Firewall 2005, Norton AV 2005 and Spybot S&D 1.4 with Tea Timer
resident. Turning everything but MSAS off still has the same result

Scanning fine here on a couple of boxes with clean installs.
