I have three xp sp2 computers connected to a hub which is connected to a DSL
modem. Access to the internet is not a problem. when i try to view
workgroup computers i get an error message saying that i do not have access
and my workgroup is not accessible.

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem.

Or we could look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", from each computer,

Chuck I found out that if I created a user account for each computer on
each computer "in the workgroup" then I was able to see and access each
computer from any other computer.
