Could anybody help please.

I'm trying to set up a network at home to share
files and printers. Both pcs are using windows XP professional. They have
been configured with different computer names and the same workgroup name.
The "Client" pc can access the internet via the Ethernet network cable via
the "server" PC. However, when I try to add a printer to the "Client" PC, it
cannot locate any printers, even though two are connected to the "Server"
pc. Also, I cannot see any shared files even though I've set up both pc's
with shared files and folders. Both pc's have windows firewall set up and
turned on with all exceptions enabled. Still nothing seems to allow each pc
to talk directly to one another.

I'd appreciate your help, regards...............Pete

Here is a link to help you with the problem:

If, after you've gone to the above links and still need help, take the
time to go through this troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg Michna:

http://www.michna.com/kb/wxnet.htm

It will pinpoint the problem area(s) for you.

Thanks for the advice, it proved owrthwhile in pointing out the cause of the
problem, in the end it was my Internet Security software (Norton), have now
managed to configure it so each pc could "talk" to one another.

Appreciated.
