Networking-Workgroup Not working

Computer 1: Desktop running XP Pro
Computer 2: Laptop running XP Pro
Computer 3: New Desktop running XP Pro
Connection: LAN Cable through a Lynksys Hub/Router
Internet: Each computer has direct connection
Workgroup Name: All the same.

SITUATION: Computers 1 and 2 are networked fine. I just
purchased Computer 3. Unfortunately computer 3 will not
network with Computers 1 & 2 and does not show as a
workgroup compter. After 8 straight hours of trying, I
have exhausted all sources. Appreciate any help.

If you are running a Firewall such as Norton Internet
Security....check that it is not preventing access to the
workgroup. Norton has an Inernet ZONE Control wizard...I
imagine other programs would have similar.

I had this problem in the past but am now a firm believer
that networking in XP is okay.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did disable Norton on all
computers. Also disabled the "Internet Connecion Firewall
(ICF)" on all computers. Still no luck. I suspect that my
problem may be security related but can't figure it out.
