Ben

I must be doing something wrong, but I cannot create a
workgroup to share files between two computers. I have
one system with XP home and one with XP pro. I am using
a hub to share an internet connection, and that is
working fine. For some reason, though, the computers
cannot join a workgroup. I guess I'm asking how to
create a workgroup, then how to join it. Thanks.

Please reply to this message in the news group (not by E-mail) with
more information to help other people understand the problem.

1. What type of Internet connection do you have -- cable modem, DSL,
or something else?

2. What's the make and model number of your hub? Are you sure that
it's a hub, not a broadband router? The network setup is very
different for those two devices.

3. Do your computers have private or public IP addresses? The private
IP address ranges are:

10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

4. Have you installed any protocols other than TCP/IP?
