you know there is a few different ways to network computers i was wonderin
which 1 would be the best way for speed and also the best to get the
computers on the network working a the peak performance

If you have broadband internet service, and an Ethernet broadband modem, your
best choice for security, simplicity, and supportability, is to get a NAT router
to connect to the broadband modem and share the service.

If you have broadband service, and a USB modem, replace it with an Ethernet
modem, and get a NAT router.

Using a NAT router to connect the computers will give you the best overall
performance, and allow each computer to perform independently of the others.
