Hi,

Anyone know why I don't have the "Use Simple File Sharing
(Recommended)" optoin in "My Computer/Tools/Folder
Options/View", the "New File Share" in "Computer
Management (Local)/Systems/Tools?Shared Folders?Actions"
or the "Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" option in
Local Area Connections/Advanced". All that I have read
about setting up an XP system to share files/folders on a
network indicate that these things must be available and
enabled for it to work, but I don't have them as options
to being with.

Thanks.
A

Greetings AGM,

Windows XP Home always uses simple file sharing. The "Use Simple File
Sharing (Recommended)" checkbox under the Folder Options is only available
in XP Pro. You will not see this option in XP Home.

Because you have Home Edition. Disableing Simple File
Sharing is only for Professional.
