The make disk method doesn't work. Before the file
settings and sharing can be copied to the disk(s) I get
an error message each time.

Using the Win XP program disk doesn't work with a machine
running Win 2000. I do not have a direct connect serial
cable yet.

Why is the prescibed ways of doing this other than the
cable not working? If I had the serial cables I wouldn't
need to set up a file sharing wizard. What do I need to
do to make this work?

I'm sorry, but it's unclear exactly what you are trying to do. Are you
trying to create a home network between a WinXP and a Win2k box? Or are
you trying to transfer data from an old Win2k box to a new WinXP box
with the idea of getting rid of the Win2k computer? Post back with what
you're trying to do.
