Please help!

I want to network two computers but view them on only one monitor, using one
mouse and keyboard. I know this can be done but I don't know how.

I have a hp Pavilion t461.uk and a hp Compaq.

Thanks.

Networking has nothing to do with controlling two computers via one mouse,
keyboard and monitor. If that's all you seek you either need a KVM
(Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch or remote desktop software (which is
included in Windows XP).

Hello Richard,

I bought a KVM, but my mouse and keyboard are wireless and the cable for
them is USB so would not fit in anywhere on the KVM. I need to be able to
see files and programmes on both the computers so I thought that networking
might be the best idea. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help.

Hmmmm ... there are KVM switches that support USB connections but they're
expensive. I'd also bet that you'll have problems with the drivers for the
wireless devices because every time you switch the KVM switch, one PC will
think the devices have just been plugged in and the other PC will think
they've been unplugged. The drivers may or may not like that.

Windows XP includes the Remote Desktop Connection feature which allows you
to log onto one computer from another over the network. Could this be what
you're looking for?
