Networking- transferring files only one way-Help!

Since setting up a network between my Laptop(XP) and desktop (SE) I have
been successfully transferring files from the desktop to the laptop which
was the main purpose of the network.
I now want to backup my laptop files to the desktop and get a message
'Network Access denied'
How do I find what is causing this?

Check the settings on the firewall. I just went through
the same exercise. The computers IP address had to be
authorized.
