Networking test

Guest

My employer has deployed windows xp pro for all employees recently and works fine with the company's server. However, there are a few test platforms that use Windows 98 and are unable to ping or reach any other XP machines. They are still able to map network drives but cannot establish a connection via Remote Desktop. I have consulted Microsoft's IT and others in my IT group. So far, still at a dead end

Ex
On Windows 98 command prompt

C:\>Ping 192.168.0.1 <- server running Windows X
Pinging...

Destination host unreachable

Windows XP platform can only ping 98 platform sparingly

Your help is greatly appreciated!
