Networking question

Hi,

On my Laptop I have Win XP Pro Sp1.

I use the Laptop on my work and I connect to the domain.
My question is how can I connect the computer to my home network.

My home network is composed by a workgroup:

A router + a modem to the internet

I tried to connect a cable between my computer and the router but it's not
working.

When I log to the computer I have in the combo Bx: the name of the domain at
office, and the name of my computer.

Any help please thanks

Hermione,

You should have a local account on the laptop, so you can hit the pull down
arrow in the combo box, and select the name of the computer for Domain, and type
in a local account name in the User Name box.

If the pull down list doesn't allow you to select the computer name in the
Domain box, type "\\computername\localaccount" in the User Name box
(substituting the computer name for "computername" and your local account for
"localaccount"). IOW, if your computer is named "MyComputer", and your local
account on the laptop is "MyLocalAccount", type "\\MyComputer\MyLocalAccount" in
the User Name box.
