Hello
I have just go a new PC with XP home and not matter what I try I cannot get
connected to my laptop. It did work on XP pro buy I don't have that machine
anymore. The network is 2 ethernet cards connected to a hub. My laptop is a
work PC and it is locked down so I cannot make changes there. I have used
different tqweaking utils but with no success. I can see my computer and I
can see the domain of the works computer but I cannot see any else. I have
also tried to map it manually but again no success.

if they are on the same subnet,,,,, (check with IP config, your work computer
may have a static address) you should be able to map a drive via the
\\IPaddress\sharename method.....??

Hi Thanks for your input.
My works computer has an IP address 0f 192.168.0.3 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
My Home XP box has an IP address of 192.168.0.1 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
I can ping the each computer either way, but still am unable to map, either
using the IP address or via the full computer name route. I can see that the
works PC is on a different domain which I am unable to change (due to
corporate policy). Also when I look in networks I can see 2 networks under
the Microsoft windows network, my works and my home network.
I am coming to think this is a limitation of XP home ( maybe a smart way for
Microsoft to get customers to upgrade to XP pro) I seem to remember Win 2k
did not have this issue either>
Regards
Paul
