Networking problems xp

I have installed a belkin networking kit as per
instrutions.
It contains two Realtek rtl8139 lan cards & a crossover
cable.The cards have installed themselves ok, can acsess
the shared folders & print ok if i start in safe mode
But soon as i start normally the pc locks up
have re installed xp to no avail.
Please help

It sounds like it could be a driver issue if it works in
safe mode when only basic drivers are installed. Try
reinstalling the drivers that came with the cards or see
if there is an updated driver available.
