I have a VPN connection with my work place.
On my home pc with Windows XP home edition (with sp2) I need some network
resources. When I added a mapping it asked for a user id and password, but it
doesn't get saved. After rebooting my home pc, and the trying to access the
mapping it asks for a password. Now, in the windows help, there is a comment
about ticking the remember pasword box, but I cannot find such a tickbox.
Also the tickbox don't ask for password isn't there.

Can anybody help me with this.

t.i.a.

p.s. Sorry for my bad english, I'm trying to translate some of the help from
the dutch help.

Your English is just fine. Probably you have a domain at work and Home
Edition can't join a domain. That is why you continually get asked for
authentication. You could solve this by upgrading to XP Pro or just
live with this if you don't need to do this very often.

Malke,

Do I need to join the domain at work to get access to a mapped network
resource?
I just have to enter the userid and password once, after every (re)boot, I
don't have to (re)enter the userid and password if I disconnect and reconnect
through vpn.
If I read your anwser correctly there is no way to save the userid ans
password (i.e. no tickbox for save pasword)?

See the Tech Tips and Downloads page at

I have a sample batch file there called "EasyMap" that might help.
