networking over firewire

Is it possible to use ICS between to computers using firewire networking? One
computer connects to the internet via a wireless connection. The second
computer connects to the first via a firewire cable. ICS is an available
option but the second computer does not see the internet. I haven't tried to
troubleshoot more than simply running the home network wizard on both
machines. I'm happy to keep trying-I just want to know if anyone has
successfully done this. I can see the first computer from the second and the
indicators show the the coonection between the two computers is successfull.
(using a firewire cable connection). The system works fine if I try using a
standard ethernet connection via crossover cable. This is not an emergency
question-just want to know if I can take advantage of the faster flow rate
provided by firewire connection.
Thanks for any suggestions and apologize if my question is too verbose...

Never played with Firewire interconnect, but FWIW, it won't speed up the
internet as you are limited to what ever speed that connection is, and
ethernet is already faster than that.
