Networking components removed by VPN install

All of my networking components were removed during a recent VPN installation
(removal of older Nortel client and install of newer in one process). I've
been unable to find a way to get the installer on cd, or the add component to
install these back. Right clicking on my network places/properties does
nothing and start/settings/network connections is blank.

I really don't want to completely rebuild the OS (hence the computer) just
to get my networking backing but I have to have it.

TIA

Bill

Just to maybe state the obvious, but have you tried using System Restore
Points to a point previous to the VPN installation(s)?
Agreed, you wouldn't have the newer Nortel client, but at least you'd have
network functionality during which time you could figure out how to get this
de-install/install working without loosing all networking functionality, or,
alternatively, how to re-install XP networking functionality if it is
completely hosed.

Does the network adapter show up in Device Manager? If so, uninstall it.
Reboot the machine. Windows should find it again and reinstall it. Then
go to your local area network properties and see what is there. Post
back after you've done this if you need more help.
