I'm new to computers & hv 2 computers at home hooked up
through a router. I do not know how to network these
computers (without use of a floppy) together to share
data. Can someone give me step by step instructions? Thank
you in advance!

Greetings --

On the WinXP PCs, create local user account(s), with non-blank
password(s), that have the desired access privileges to the desired
shares. Log on to the other PCs using those account(s), and you will
be able to access the designated shares, provided your network is
configured properly.

Usually, WinXP's Networking Wizard makes it simple and painless --
almost entirely automatic, in fact. There's a lot of useful,
easy-to-follow information in WinXP's Help & Support files, and here:

In my experience, if you network two computers it's hard to keep from
NOT talking. The key, with the XP boxes, is to make sure each has
identical user accounts, with identical non-blank passwords, running
on the same workgroup.

Of course, to see anything on the other box, you will need to create a
share. You'd be surprised how many people complain they can't see any
files/folders on other networked computers, only to discover they have
never shared anything on those computers.
