network systray icons

Is there any way to disable the "network cable disconnected" systray
notification? My notebook is a centrino machine, so rarely needs the net
cable, being networked on the wireless side.
 
Go into your network connections and disable the ethernet card. That will
make the message go away. If you ever need ethernet, enable it again.
