Network stopped working after logitech webcam installed

Hi,

I installed a couple of logitech 4000 webcams on two of my
computers. Initially the two computers could comunicate,
but the audio wasn't working. After fiddling with the
audio settings for a while, I noticed I was enable to
control my remote computer via remote admin stuff.
Futhermore IE6/Messenger etc.. stopped working. Turns out
that the computer lost its ability to work on the
network. I did an ipconfig /all and noticed that my
network card no longer had a valid IP or subnet( I use a
linksys router with DHCP capabilites). I then manually
configured the network card and was able to ping other
network devices, but thats it. Explorer still wouldn't
work. I noticed that the webcam installed some microsoft
web/video virtual network device.

Last time I saw a network problem like this was because I
had installed VMWARE. Unable to find a solution, I was
forced to reinstall XP. ( I tried all the usual stuff,
uninstalled network card, reinstalled yada yada yada).

Is there something in the registry that can be changed to
make things work again.

Thanks,
Ed

ipconfig shows that the IP address is set to something
that won't work with my routers netmask. It shows
255.255.0.0 which is unusual. I checked the route table
as well. It too looks strange. If I manually setup the
ip stuff then the route looks ok for the most part
although the ID of the network card is longer than it is
on a similar machine that does work. After I manually
configure everything I can ping my other computer as well
as ping my router and my outside IP address as well.
However IE and messanger still don't work. One unusual
thing I noticed is that I can remotely connect from a
good computer to the screwed up computer, but not
visaversa. I also tried to reset the IP stuff by using
netsh int ip reset ... (found on the knowledge base), but
that didn't work either.
