network speed

Currently having extreeme network speed issues.
if i run a copy/paste of large file between servers all is
ok, if i use backup exec it crawls
this is also causing access to my exchange and database
servers to be almost unusable. win2k ad with all win2k
servers
have added third dc to network but no change (in fact may
be worse)

I have to ask the obvious (since I won't assume
anything):

Do you have the BackupExec client software
(accelerator) loaded on the target systems?
