Hi,

We have laptop users who connect to an unsecured wireless network, and then
plug into the lan. I have concerns about security on the laptop and whether
anyone from the 'Outside world' could access other network devices through
the wireless.
Any suggestions as to how we can stop this without disabling wireless (the
users don't have admin rights) and bearing in mind that the users forget to
disconnect from the wireless network.

Get a wireless router with isolation mode (it's referred to by different
names depending on the manufacturer) and wireless users will be isolated
from each other as well as the LAN network itself.

Yes, they can access depending on the security your have on the LAN. While
I would not deny the fact that any highest level encryption can be broke, i
would say that the authentication method that you had employed if any,
should prevent access to unathourized resources.

Keeping a wireless network without security is dangerous. If you have setup
authentication not based on user login credentials but on machine or mac
ids, i am sure any kid could get into it.
