Network Scanner

Can XP recognize a network scanner. We have a Xerox
Multifunctional device that is connected to the PC with a
TCP/IP address. I can print to the Xerox device but I
would like to have XP be able to recognize the device and
then scan an image directly into my third party software.

Not usually, unless it's a specifically networkable scanner.... and for that
information, contact Xerox or read the manual.
