Network properties dialog does not come up in WinXP Pro

Hi,

I have a Sony VAIO with a LAN connection, BT connection,
and two dialups. The dialups are MSN and AOL.
I tried to enable Internet Connection Sharing by right-
clicking the dialup connection and going into properties.

The problem is - the dialog for "Properties" does not
come up. Simply - nothing happens!
I can do right-click -> "Properties" forever and nothing
ever comes up for either MSN or AOL. It does come up for
the LAN and BT connections, and I can enable ICS there.
Also, the MSN connection is listed under "Connection
Manager" and AOL is listed under "Dialup". I don't
understand why.

I am running Windows XP Pro, in an administrator account.

ICS (and the properties page) won't work with AOL. I do believe the newest
versions of MSN are compatible so you might try upgrading.

Thanks!

I am using MSN mostly. I have been able to get ICS to work with MSN.
I made a new dial-up connection using MSN dialup number and a specially
formatted user id "MSN/username". Had to call MSN tech support and push for a
way to make it work before the tech finally decided to tell me. Normally MSN
asks for user id in the format of "(e-mail address removed)" or "(e-mail address removed)".
All other dialup settings are at default values. This works perfectly.

The original MSN dialup connection, the one set up by MSN installer for me,
still doesn't let me see its properties. No idea why - I'm blaming it on the
usual Windoze tricks.

Thanks,
Mike
