network problems

Hi
We have a network with 2 W2K Advanced servers and machines
running W2K Pro. The one server is a file server and the
other runs an application. Both can't see the the DSL modem
we have. Not with ping, not with trace, not with IE. Of
course they can not see the internet also. We use fixed IP
addresses in the range 192.168.0.x for the servers and 192.
168.1.x for the workstations and the dsl. The subnet mask
is 255.255.0.0 for both servers and workastions. The dsl
modem has subnet 255.255.255.0 which i can't change it for
the moment. Now when i change the ip addresses of the
servers from 192.168.0.x to 192.168.1.x everything works
fine except that the workstations logon to the network
extremely slow (around 30 to 45 min). If change bachk the
ip's they login normally but the servers can't see the
internet.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Dimitrios Papoudas

Hi Dimitrios,

I don't understand why you use 192.168.0.x for servers and 192.168.1.x for
workstations. That will never work right.
How does the DSL-modem connect to your network? Are you using a 2nd nic for
it?

Marina
