I have 2 computers networked together. Everything worked fine until I
replaced one of the computers with a new one. Now the new computer connects
with the internet fine and I can see my computer and its files on it, but
when I attempt to click on the new computer (in view workgroup computers) on
my computer, I get a login box requiring a password. The new computer has
only 1 user and a password has never been established.

How can I get rid of the login box?

Did you run the XP network setup wizard on the new computer?

No--I didn't think it was necessary. The new computer connects to the
internet OK and sees files on my computer OK (without a required login).

This is a new computer, even if the User ID and computer name are the same,
the other computers on the network see it as an alien computer.
