I have Windows XP SP1. Problem is I can't connect to internet. I have tried
two network cards and both are working (tried in other machines). Tried thru
command prompt with ipconfig/release and renew. Message states I have a
problem with IP address. Need to remove and start over but I can't. Is
there any way to start over with this? Also I can't uninstall TCP/IP.

Sam have you tried ipconfig /flushdns this will purge your dns cache then try
the release and renew. Also if it is a cable modem or DSL try powering the
modems off for a few min. then back on.

lanman, I have found the problem...the pci slot that this network card was
installed is dead. I tried the remedies you had requested but it didn't
work. After that I decided to just move the card to a different slot. I
finally worked. Tested slot with tester and found slot not working. Thanks
for your help in this matter.
Sam
