Network problem

I have a strange network problem that I have been unable to resolve. Any
help would be appreciated.

2 PCs both running XP Home connected through crossover cable between NICs.

PC1 was updated to SP2 with no issues.
PC2 was updated to SP2 and is now unable to see the shared folders or
printer on PC1. PC1 is able to see shared folders on PC2. Error message is
always "Access Denied".

PC2 is able to see PC1 in the list of workgroup computers but not able to
see/access it's shares.

Guest account is active on both PCs.

I have recreated the shares but this makes no difference. My guess is that
SP2 has done something on PC2 but I am unable to see what this might be. I
have been through the network trouble-shooter but this doesn't offer any
suggestions that I haven't already tried. The workstation and server
services are running on both PCs. File & print sharing is on both PCs.

Thanks,

Les Smith

What happens when you turn the XP firewall off?

No difffference at all. It seems that there is some security issue but I
cannot see where it is being applied.
