Network Printing to Xerox Phaser 5500 DT

Tried printing to Xerox network printer (attached to W2K3 print server) and
keep getting error message "PScoutExe stopped working"; document prints
anyway, but that message always pops. Any clues as to what is happening?

BTW, to get any document to print in the first instance, I had to modify my
Vista print spooler service settings to ensure that the service always
restarts upon failure.

PScout is a Xerox application that monitors the network attached printer.
I'll pass this information along to Xerox. At Microsoft we disabled this
utility due to issues encountered when running on XP.

Thanks Alan for the prompt response; can you tell me exactly how you disabled
the utility i.e. was it a registry tweak or some other method?

Xerox gave us a modified installation package that did not include this
feature.

There is a bug on this issue using the Phaser 6100. I will update the bug
with your information.

Print Scout crashes when printing to a Xerox Phaser 6100

install the Phaser 6100 XP drivers
Print anything
Printing Scount Crashes
A message is shown indicating that the printer is trying to display an error
on the screen.
Continue, various errors are diisplayed
The page comes out as a Black bacground which is unreadible.
