Network printer not recognized

I work in an office that has about 15 work stations. My problem is there are
a couple of PC's that will not print to a printer on the network. I thought
the problem might be a conflict between XP and 98, because the printer is
physically attached to a PC that is running 98, however another workgroup
computer is running xp as well and works flawlessly with the printer. The
problem PC "sees" the printer when i browse the network, but it will not
connect to it or let me add it. When i try and manually enter a IP and port
for the printer, it says port name not valid etc. Im not a beginner with PC's
and IT, so please don't reply with basics. Thanks,

Can you add it using:

\\Nameof98PC\NameofPrinter

where Nameof98PC is the name of the Windows 98 PC on the network and
NameofPrinter is the shared name of the printer on the network?

No because it asks me to specify both an "address" and a "port". I put the
\\nameof98pc\nameofprinter in, but i do not know what the IP address would be
for the printer. It is not the IP address of the 98PC, i have tried that. The
printer does not show me an IP address when i look through its configs. Also
i have tried adding the printer as a local rather than network, on the
troubled PC, and that gives me no luck.
