Network Printer Connection, XP Home

I have a HP Laser Jet 5 with a Jet direct card connected
directly to my home network. My new XP machine cannot
see this printer, either when I "search for a network
printer" or when I type in the IP address directly. In
MS DOS I can ping the printer's IP address and it's
there. Whatever I do, the XP machine cannot "see" or
detect this printer.

How can I "see" this printer? What are the steps to add
it?

The printer needs to be shared so the other hosts on the network will see it

If the host connected to the printer is an XP

"How to Use Windows XP to Share a Printer with Others on Your Network

If the host is 98(se)

"Share a printer over your home network

If the host is ME
