Using XP Professional, how do I desktop send messages to
other computers on the network using 2000?
 
from a command prompt, type "net send /?" (without the quotes)
it will show you the syntax for sending your message to a particular user,
particular machine, or the entire domain.

If these pc's are network or on a domain you can use
the "net send" command from a dos prompt, or a run window.

i.e. C:\net send "computername" message
 
you can go to the computer management ( under Amin tool which comes under
control panel ) where it says Computer management ( local ) right click
there and under all ttask select send messages .
