One of my users is getting the following message when
attempting to log onto our network. Does anyone know how i
can fix this??????

"windows cannot connect to the domain either because the
domain controller is down or your computer account was not
found."

Many thanks in advance.

I would check the DNS settings first.

I've had similar things happen--usually I have to remove
the PC from the network by adding it to a workgroup.
Then log on locally and add it back to the domain. Hope
this helps.

Hi

Sounds silly, but have you checked that the "computer"
does exist in AD, and if so, tried resetting it?

Has the computer recently had it's name changed?

Madd

Has the computer name been changed from what is on the
domain has the acct expired can you as the administrator
log in using the admin user name and password

What is the OS? If Win98 then the logon type may be the
probelm. This can be checked in the properties of the
tcp/ip setting of the network card.
Are the computers set up in a domain or a workgroup?
