I've got XP running on two computers. They both can see
the Shared folder on the opposite machine, and can access
anything in those folders. Problem is, I can't access
any other folders on the system, unless I share them.
Something I don't want to do if I can avoid it.
In Win2000, when I tried to access the networked
machine's harddrive \\system\d$\ I would get a login
prompt, which I then entered my username and password.
No problem. But in XP, I get the login prompt, but the
user name is locked (greyed out) on Guest and I can't
change it. To make matters worse, the Guest account has
no password that I can find, and no matter what I put in
the password box, I can't access the other system's
folders.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx.
