This is a little off the path, but after searching the
internet I thought I would see if anyone out there would
have a lead. I am looking for software, preferably web
based, to track network devices. I would like something
that I can fill out fields about devices such as pcs,
device name, workgroup, operating system, motherboard, ip
address, passwords, sound cards, etc. and I would then be
able to view results and search for devices. I have pc
software that shows every thing you would ever want to
know about a pc (PCInfo), but would like to enter the
basic information into a program that I could keep track
of the entire network and look up devices as necessary.
Example- I enter information about a pc, say Office01,
Office02, etc. in the Office workgroup, Sales01, Sales02,
etc. in the Sales workgroup and I could then search and
pull up the device I want to veiw info on that particular
device. You can email me if you like, just take out
the "bogus".
Thanks in advance

Windows Server provides directory services which gives you "inventory"
