Network folders appear empty

I have an XPpro computer that has shared folders on it. I can view all the
files fine over the network on different machines except on one computer that
sees some folders as empty and some folders have missing subfolders. The
machine can browse most all of the files/folders except for certain ones.

I've turned off caching and tried about everything else.

Ideas???

I have found the same problem and it seems to be related to the latest batch
of security updates released by Microsoft.

I uninstalled a few of the latest "Hotfixes" and now I can browse the network
fine.

Thanks for the tip.

I have traced the problem to KB885250, removing this and turning off
Automatic Updates is the only workaround I have been able to come up with.
Microsoft support responce from Martin Ma has stated "I fully understand the
inconvenience of this issue. However, I am afraid that there will not be a
hotfix for this issue." so unless there is a major change Microsoft has no
interest in fixing the problem they created.
