Network drive mapping problem

D

David

Encounterd this error attempting to map network drives on
a desktop with XP PRo and a laptop with XP Home.

The mapped network drive could not be created because the
following error has occurred:
Not enough server storage is available to process this
command.

Any idea how to prevent this from happening.

The desktop PC has 512Mb ram and plenty of drive space
free.
The laptop uses 256Mb ram and has 3Gb free drive space.
Thanks for any adice!!

ISTR recall that misleading error message can be caused by using
NAV (Norton's AV app). The fix is to edit the registry to increase
the IRPStackSize; 15 (decimal) is reported to work.

Caveat: Editing the registry is kinda like open-heart surgery.
Backup the registry before you edit it, and don't call me
if something bad happens.
