I have a windows XP Professional SP1 with updates installed that is having
and issue on the network. On the workstation there may be 8 network drives
mapped, two of the drives experience this issue periodically. The drive just
disappears from my computer and windows explorer. I went to the workstation
today to see if I could figure out what the issue is.
I looked in event view and did not see anything of great significance.
Early in the morning like 8:00 A.M. there was s delayed write failure. I
looked at the KB article that relates to this issue and shows a hotfix, but
it did not meet all of the criteria. I restarted the computer browser
service, and this did not change anything. I closed and reopened my
computer, refreshed the screen, and still no F: drive.
I opened a command prompt and typed Net use and f: shows up in the list
mapped properly and showing as connected.
I killed the explorer.exe process and started it again and the drive letter
shows up.
If you have my computer open after the issue occurs you can type f: in the
address bar and a network drive icon will appear, but not text saying f
drive, or what server it is on. Any help would be appreciated.
