Hello,

I am working on a Tablet PC for use by an emergency ambulance service and
I'm having an issue with the Wireless Connectivity "bubble" that appears on
the bottom right of the screen.

I'd like to find a way to disable the messages (Windows cannot connect
to....). I have tried entering properties for the connection and unchecking
the appropriate notification box, however the message continues to appear.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

You might want to post to one of the Tablet PC newsgroups. Here is a
list of all MS newsgroups: http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

I'll give it a shot - but it should be the same for any version of XP.

Thanks though,

I do not have wireless so I cannot check to verify.
In Control Panel, Network Connections I can right click on any connection
that I have and select Disable. In the past, before I was using my Ethernet
connection, I used this method to stop the LAN not connected bubble message.

Hi Don,

Thanks for the reply, however I can't afford to disable the connection - I
still need the system to connect when it's in range. I'm just looking for a
way to stop displaying the "bubble" when it cannot connect for one reason or
another.

P.S. I have cleared both checkboxes within the network connection
properties that refer to notifications.

Hi Brian,

If you have permission to install application, then the balloon tips can
be disabled using Tweakui. Install Tweakui and go to
Task - Start menu, then uncheck "Enable balloon tips".

Microsoft PowerToys - Tweakui for WinXP: Ver. 2.10 requires WinXP SP1
and later
http://www.microsoft.com/WINDOWSXP/home/downloads/powertoys.asp

TweakUI can be accessed from Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Thanks Bert!! I completely forgot about TweakUI - it solved that problem and
a few others.
