Network connections

Running XP prof, and network connections hove disapeared.
The computer still uses the networ card for successful
access to internet, but other computers in the workgroup
aren't visible. All others see the rest but not this
machine. The problem materialized several days ago and
using the network setup wizard does nothing. None of the
computers network hardware shows up in the network
connections window.
