Network connections control panel doesn't works...

When I open the Network Connections control panel, no
connections is showed. I can't configure my connections
(I can't see then). Nor the connection status is no more
showed in the traybar.
All this appeared after a HD data falure cause a power
source problem.
File corruption?
Thanks for any solution!!!

First make sure that your Network Connections Service and Remote Access
Connection Manager services are running. If they are then compare the LAN
connections in the connections folder with the Network Adapter drivers in
device manager. If there is a Network Adapter driver that doesn't have a
corresponding connection in the connections folder then try reinstalling it.

The services are running.
I have 5 dial-up connections and 1
Local Network Connection but the connections folder is
empty.
The access to network config and status may be blocked???
When I use a dial-up connection I have to pull the phone
cabe
to disconnect cause I have no access to connection status.
What is going on???

Thanks.

Hei! What a problem!
I decided to reinstall Win XP. Ok. Now I can see the
connections, but my network card (was acepted by win) now
cannot be installed (I got a err after installation).
More, a device Ras ..., has not been installed. I can't
use dial-up connections: no support to call (something
this: My win is in Portuguese)...

What I can do?
thanks

That's not for me...

Well. After I reinstalled the winXP, my dial-up conections
is now on the connections folder (before the folder was
empty), but can't connect. When I try I get a error (fisrt
error 50 - something about support to service, and now
error 6 - invalid identity). My system fails to install
the network card because a file is missing. I get the
oficial driver for my card and I get the same error. The
services is all running. The network doesn't work in my
computer. Why?

I will try to remove all the updates (autoupdate) and
reinstall windows...

I need help.

thanks

I decided to reinstall Win XP. Ok. Now I can see the
connections, but my network card (was acepted by win) now
cannot be installed (I got a err after installation).
More, a device Ras ..., has not been installed. I can't
use dial-up connections: no support to call (something
this: My win is in Portuguese)...

What I can do?
thanks

First make sure that your Network Connections Service
and
Remote Access
Connection Manager services are running. If they are
then compare the LAN
connections in the connections folder with the Network
Adapter drivers in
device manager. If there is a Network Adapter driver
that doesn't have a
corresponding connection in the connections folder then
try reinstalling it.

When I open the Network Connections control panel, no
connections is showed. I can't configure my connections
(I can't see then). Nor the connection status is no more
showed in the traybar.
All this appeared after a HD data falure cause a power
source problem.
File corruption?
Thanks for any solution!!!

And you checked the "show hidden" menu item?

No, there is only my network card with a yellow I (can't
be installed) and none of WAN miniport devices. I tried to
install with add new hardware, but they doesn't there.
This is the problem?
How can I fix this???

Thanks.
-----Original Message-----
Run device manager and check the View/Show hidden devices. Under Network
Adapters you should see these (among others)

WAN Miniport (IP)
WAN Miniport (L2TP)
WAN Miniport (PPPOE)
WAN Miniport (PPTP)

Are they there?

I get no error with this command and no changes in my
system errors...
I have some facts:
1. I think the device not installed in the first time I
tried to connect after windows reinstall was RAS Async
Adapter.
2. I get Event advice: O Gerenciador de conexão de acesso
remoto não pôde ser iniciado porque não foi possível abrir
NDISWAN. (code: 20027). Something as: RasMan cannot be
initiated because NDISWAN can't be opened...

I checked the registry and the dll linked to ndiswan do
exist: netcfgx.dll. This file is not missing...

What I can now???

Thanks.
-----Original Message-----
Try doing an "sfc /scannow" to make sure all the system files are still
present.

Both error 6 and 50 suggest something is wrong with the
driver. What file
is missing when you try to reinstall it?

That's not for me...

Well. After I reinstalled the winXP, my dial-up conections
is now on the connections folder (before the folder was
empty), but can't connect. When I try I get a error (fisrt
error 50 - something about support to service, and now
error 6 - invalid identity). My system fails to install
the network card because a file is missing. I get the
oficial driver for my card and I get the same error. The
services is all running. The network doesn't work in my
computer. Why?

I will try to remove all the updates (autoupdate) and
reinstall windows...

I need help.

thanks
