network connection folder was unable to retrieve adapters

op: - xp sp 1
I lost my Internet connection icon on the task bar
(cannot disconnect)
I try to repair this problem by entering "network
connections folder" - it appears "empty".
When I try to refresh it - I receive "network connection
folder was unable to retrieve the list of network
adapters...."
(Network connection service is running and no actually
problems working Internet).
In "Help and Support" most of "Networking" help is empty
too. No link in "Get support" section.
I think that something happened to registry.
Someone can help?

Try to delete the network connection and recreate it
again.
