Gentlemen:

I have XP on my computer and have high speed internet
connection. Every now and then, my internet connection
stops working. If I open my network connections and
disable the network and then enable it back, it starts
working again. What is does is it disable the network
card and enables it back.

Does anyone know what command can be used from C:> prompt
to disable the network card and enable it back?

I have used ipconfig and releases the IPs. That does not
help.

Thanks,
Gaurab

Check your manual on your mother board.
I noticed that most mother boards share the interrupt with the video card if
you have the NIC plugged into the slot just below the video card.
On the mother boards I use it is best to have the NIC card in the third
slot.
So you might want to move your NIC card to another slot and see if this
problem goes away.
