Network card (and connection) disappeared

So this morning when I power on my PC there's no net connectivity. When
I first checked Network Connections the network adapter (wired)
appeared as disabled, when I enabled it, it disappeared entirely.

I can still see it in Device Manager (when I select the 'show hidden
devices' option), and have tried disabling and enabling it from there.

* I haven't installed any new software recently
* The other computer on the network can connect to the internet as
usual
* The pretty green light on the card is still on, so I assume the card
didn't simply die

Any suggestions to what the problem might be and how I can fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Joel L.

Oh well, after I removed the card, rebooted, reinstalled the card in a
different slot and rebooted again, everything is OK again.

Guess WinXP decided he didn't like the color of my curtains or
whatever.

Typical Windows.
